A London Wedding at Islington Town Hall and Old Finsbury Hall
April 11, 2017
It's weddings like these that make me love my job so much.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of filming my first London wedding, which I was very excited about as it meant I had to work in a complete different way to my usual weddings.
The biggest difference was not having my car, and if anyone has felt how heavy my equipment is they will know what a big game changer this is. However, after purchasing a couple of lighter tripods I managed to fit/attach everything to one large rucksack which allowed me to run around London for the day.
The weather was on Laila and Tony's side on the day; the sun was shining and the bustling streets close to Islington Town Hall were lined with cherry blossom trees which made such a gorgeous backdrop.
Islington Town Hall was not like your usual registry office, it was an impressive large oval room with built in chairs, which again added to the beauty of the day. After the ceremony we walked the streets of London to get some lovely portraits, which again, was totally different for me but I really loved the challenge and outcome of this.
The reception was held at Old Finsbury Hall, now for anyone who hasn't seen this venue before go google it now. It is A-MAZING. Like, seriously gorgeous. The couple kept the decor simple with white and golds which let the venue's natural beauty shine through.
All the men we're in tuxes - which is my all time favourite attire for men at weddings, and the bridesmaids were in gorgeous floor length pastel blue dresses which were teamed with blush pink bouquets. But the star of the day was Laila, her attention to detail with her accessories really set her apart. A lot of her details are included in the trailer below so go have a sneak peak for inspiration.
As I always mention, when I am filming a wedding I am always secretly praying for amazing speeches. Well, Tony didn't disappoint. The words he spoke about Laila were so touching, and the way he kept looking at her through out the day has kept making me smile through out the editing process. Loved up couples are my favourite!
Thanks again guys for having me as part of your special day, I really loved it.
