An Emotional Fueled March Wedding at Aldwark Manor, York
Hello! So last Saturday I had the pleasure of filming Kelly and Dan's big day at Aldwark Manor. It was my first time at the venue, so I was pretty excited to see it in the flesh. The drive up to the Manor was beautiful; I drove through Great Ouseburn which was just the prettiest village I've ever seen. Once I arrived at Aldwark Manor I was so pleased to see the gorgeous cherry blossom trees as they're a real sign of spring. In my film's I like to try and include some hints of what season to help tell the story of the day.
I was taken up to the suite where Kelly and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The room was really modern, with tons of natural light and a really high ceiling which made a beautiful backdrop for the bridal prep.
Dan's gift to Kelly was some new perfume to wear for the day which he had picked himself, I really love this idea and it is something I am definitely going to do for my wedding. Kelly bought Dan a pocket watch, and her Dad had the good thought of filming him opening it, so it was great to see him reaction, and to be able to use it on the film.
Kelly is a wedding stationary designer so I was super excited to see their wedding breakfast room all laid out, as predicted it didn't disappoint! If any of you are still looking for someone to do you wedding details I highly recommend checking Kelly out at The Wedding Stationary Co. Dan and Kelly had decided not to have speeches due to Dan and Kelly's dad not being overly keen on public speaking, so I asked Dan if he would mind reading out his card to Kelly for me, so I could use the speech on the film which has worked really well. The couple have been together for 13 years and it's so clear how crazy they are for each other, I loved capturing them having a moment to themselves during the portraits - I was grinning like a cheshire cat editing it as they're so flipping cute together! Anyway, don't take my word for it.. Have a look for yourselves. Please note, this is just the trailer of Mr and Mrs Mortimer's special day, enjoy!
